Acura Maintenance Minder™

Although we review the Acura maintenance schedule below, the good news is that you don’t have to remember it. When maintenance is due on your new or used Acura, the Acura Maintenance Minder™ indicator illuminates a small maintenance icon on the multi-information display on your Acura dashboard. When you see it, contact the Acura of Avon service team near Hartford to promptly make a service appointment and keep your car in peak condition.

Acura Maintenance Schedule

Preventative care of your Acura can keep you from getting stuck on the side of West Hartford roads waiting for a tow truck. Below are the Acura service intervals for common maintenance tasks.

  • Oil Change: An Acura oil change should occur every three to six months or approximately 3,000 to 7,500 miles. Check your owner’s manual for specific recommendations for your model.
  • Battery Replacement: Your battery should be replaced about every three to four years. Watch for trouble starting your car or any leaking from your battery, which indicates that you need immediate service.
  • Coolant Replacement: Every two to three years, have your coolant replaced.
  • Brake Pad Replacement: Your brakes should be inspected, and your brake pads replaced about every 30,000 and 60,000 miles. Watch for a squishy brake pedal, or squeaking noise when applying the brake.
  • Brake Fluid Replacement: Your brake fluid should be replaced every two years.
  • Transmission Fluid Replacement: Transmission fluid should be drained and refilled every 30,000 to 60,000 miles for a manual transmission and at about 60,000 to 100,000 miles for an automatic.
  • Tire Rotation Service: Your tires need to be rotated every six months or 7,500 miles. Tire rotation helps prevent your tires from wearing down unevenly or prematurely.
  • Tire Replacement: Watch your tire tread. Typically, you’ll need a new set of tires between 25,000 to 50,000 miles.
